MRS. LILLIE S. MOORE OF DES MOINES DIES
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at a Des Moines funeral home for Mrs. Lillie S. Moore of Des Moines, the mother of Kenneth Moore, former manager of the Ames telephone company office. Mrs. Moore died Friday evening at her home. She had suffered a stroke about a month ago.
The Rev. Brett Kenna, pastor of the First Methodist church, Des Moines, officiated. Special services were held at the cemetery by Chapter FY of the P. E. O., of which she was a charter member.
Mrs. Moore had been a resident of Des Moines since 1899. Born in Brunswick, Mo., she attended school in Ginsgow, Mo., and later Iowa Wesleyan college, Mount Pleasant. While attending Iow Wesleyan she was initiated into the the original chapter A of the P. E. O., then a college sorority. Later she was affiliated with Chapter Q of Des Moines and was later one of the founders and president of chapter FY.
She was married in 1893 to Dr. George Edward Moore. They resided at Maryville, Mo., until coming to Des Moines.
Surviving besides her son at Marshalltown are a daughter, Mrs. Clifford L. Burnham of Evanston, Ill., and a sister, Dr. Adda Liffring, Mansfield, O.
