THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, February 17, 2009.

Thelma I. Yeaman, 95, of DeKalb, Ill., passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S. Fourth St., in DeKalb, with the Rev. Robert Vaughn officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date in Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

Thelma I. Yeaman was born Sept. 15, 1913, in Ogden, the daughter of Herman and Evelyn (Toliver) Johnson. She married Lowell Marlin Cruse in Boone and later married William Yeaman.

She was employed at Brenton Bank in Des Moines and later was employed at the University of Chicago. She then went back to work at Brenton Bank, where she retired. She was a former member of Boone Christian Church in Boone.

She is survived by her son, Carl W. (Lois) Cruse, of Malta, Ill.; her stepdaughter, Barbara (Fred) Graziano, of Palos Heights, Ill., and their families; three grandchildren, Carla Cruse, of Rockford, Ill., Cynthia (Dale) Lynch, of Sycamore, Ill., and Lana (Tom) Lazarz, of Antioch, Ill.; seven great-grandchildren, Holly (Tom) Giardina, of Rockford, Ill., Brett (Molly) Martinson, of Rochelle, Ill., Kory and Karlee Lynch, both of Sycamore, Ill., and Tyler, Spencer and Cambell Lazarz, of Antioch, Ill.; two great-great-granddaughters, Kelly and Paige Giardina; her niece, Lorene Johnson, of Iowa; her nephew, Dennis Johnson, of Ankeny; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lowell; her second husband, William; her parents; and her brother, Carl.
