The family of Ricky J. Monroe, 58, has received notification of his death Jan. 21, 2009 in Dayton, Ohio. Ricky was born Oct. 19, 1950, and grew up in the Melbourne and Nevada area. Ricky graduated from Nevada High School 1970 and served in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents James and Gertrude Gerke Monroe of Melbourne, and later residents of Nevada, Iowa. He is survived by numerous relatives in the central Iowa area. He will be interned in Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
