Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service Obituary, Ames, Story County, Iowa.

Evelyn Nicolle, 90, of Ames, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames, with Pastor Troy Nesbitt officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Adams Funeral Home.

Evelyn Nicolle was born March 23, 1918, in Alpha, Ill., to Henry and Irene (Hambleton) Anderson. She was a lab tech at the National Animal Disease Lab in Ames. Evelyn married Ronald Nicolle May 12, 1942, in Trenton, Mo. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, her cats, knitting, crocheting and making Christmas candy.

Survivors include four daughters, Karen (Gary) Elliott, of Boone, Carolyn (Jerry) Dyke, of Neola, Donna Jetter, of Ames, and Janet (Lowell) Johannes, of Conifer, Colo.; sister, Ruthie Buchholtz, of Des Moines; sister-in-law, Evelyn Nicholl, of Sun City West, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald, in 1973; and brother, William Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice or the family.
