J. E. Coffman, 61, Dies After Long Illness
Joseph Ephriam Coffman, 61, a resident of Ames for 11 years and a native of Story county, died at his home at 609 Grand avenue at 5:45 p. m. Sunday. He had been ill with a heart disease for about 30 years.
Mr. Coffman was born in Story county Dec. 24, 1874. He was married to Mae Margaret Jones Jan. 31, 1900, and the family moved to Ames in 1925.
Surviving him are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. W. J. Hill, Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. T. E. Noble, Vinton; one brother, L. F. Coffman, Ames; one sister, Mrs. W. E. Milliken, Ames, and one grandchild, Dion Walter Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday from the Adams chapel, with the Rev. Jack Finegan, pastor of the Church of Christ, in charge. Burial will be in the Ontario cemetery.
