Alta Hauge, 94, of Story City, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services are pending with Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Alta Eleanora Hauge, 94, of Story City, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City. Visitation with family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at South St. Petri Cemetery in rural Gilbert.

Alta Eleanora Peterson was born June 1, 1914, near Gilbert, to Carrie Olena (Musland) Peterson and Peter Ollie Peterson. She was baptized in the South St. Petri Church near Gilbert and confirmed and remained a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. She graduated from Gilbert High School and the Thompson School of Beauty Culture in Des Moines. She married Edwin T. Hauge June 6, 1948, in Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a beautician and co-owner of The Artistic Beauty Salon in Ames for 28 years.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin; three sisters; and three brothers.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is assisting the family with arrangements.
