Alice was born April 14, 1915, at Iowa City, the daughter of Harry and Maud (Akin) Jenks. She graduated from Drake College and then taught school until she married. On May 28, 1941, she married Forest Glenn Larkin in Gilman. Alice and Forest lived on the farm near Cambridge until 1960 when they moved into town. Forest preceded Alice in death on July 5, 1986.

She was a member of Cambridge United Methodist Church and UMW, and was a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, her yard, sewing, watching sports and being a member of the Ballard Bleacher Buddies. She loved her great-grandchildren and loved to be doing something for someone. She loved life!

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one daughter-in-law, Judy Larkin.
