Ruth Laura Greenlee, 88, died September 12, 2008 in her home in Story City, Iowa.

Visitation was held at Valhalla Gardens in Belleville, Tuesday, September 16 from 5 - 8 p.m.

The funeral was held Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Valhalla Gardens chapel followed by the graveside service.

Ruth Laura Richards was born February 12, 1920 in Caseyville, Illinois to Charles and Laura (Paulsen) Richards. Ruth married Elmer Roy Greenlee November 26, 1938. To this union six children were born. James (Judy) Greenlee, Chula Vista, California; Jerald (Dorothy) Greenlee, Warrensburg, Illinois; Kenneth (Judy) Greenlee, Huntington Beach, California; Janet (Virgil) Oeltjen, Creal Springs, Illinois; Jacqueline (Ole) Skaar, Story City, Iowa; Gary (Annette) Greenlee, Belleville, Illinois.

Ruth was retired after working as a nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, Illinois. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sisters and her grandson, Gabriel.

She is survived by her sister (Irene Witte), children, grandchildren, Michael and Jeffrey (Rahel) Greenlee, Jessica, Joy, Rachael and Kevin Greenlee, Leanne (George) Hausdorf, Brian (Jill) Oeltjen, Sheila (Bob) Nolan, Jennifer Skaar, Kathryn (Harold) Skaar-Perkins and Lars (Veronica) Skaar, Ryan, Danny and Kyle Greenlee, and 13 great-grandchildren.
