CHRIS PETERSON DIES AT GILBERT

GILBERT - Chris Petersen, 87, died here from the complications of his advanced age, at 2:00 a. m. Wednesday. Since shortly after the death of his wife on April 3, 1929, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Petersen have made their home with him.

Mr. Petersen was born in Fyn, Denmark, October 22, 1842. In 1872 he came to the United States and settled in Story county, where he continued to reside with the exception of two years spent in California.

On September 25, 1879, he was married to Sophie Sorenson of Nevada. They made their home on a farm three miles southwest of Story City until 1914, when they came to Gilbert.

He is survived by a brother, Andrew, at Marathon, and many nieces and nephews. Among these are Mrs. P. C. Larson of Gilbert and Mrs. Olaf Peterson, who with her husband recently moved from Minnesota to the T. T. Lee Farm north of Ames. Others are scattered thru Texas and California.

Funeral services will be held in the Lutheran church here, Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, with the Rev. T. T. Helmarck of Story City in charge.

G. Hanson of Spencer, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Jens Jensen and Arlo Jensen of Hampton; Mrs. Mary Johnson, Chris Peterson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Dale, Mr. and Mrs. Miller Abrahamson, Mrs. Sarah Jorgenson, Pete Lanesen and Nels Lanesen of Story City and Mrs. Paul Paulson of Drumright, Oklahoma.
