PETER W. BALDUS DIES; RITES TUES.

Peter W. Baldus, 75, 618 Crawford avenue, died at 8 p. m. Saturday at the Mary Greeley Hospital of old age and complications. Mr. Baldus had lived in Ames for the past 11 years following his retirement from active work. Most of his life was spent on a farm near Story City.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Adams chapel with the Rev. H. A. Browning of the Ames Christian church in charge. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.

Mr. Baldus was born in Cook county Illinois but came to this county 73 years ago with his parents. Practically all of his life was spent in Story County.

Surviving relatives include his wife, five children and two brothers. The children are: Clarence of Kenyon, Minn.; Dr. Edward L. of Kimball, Minn.; Albert of Story City; Mrs. Lena Howland of near Ames and Miss Ida Baldus at home. Clarence and Edward came here from Minnesota Friday and had a short visit with their father before his death. The brothers include William of 523 Northwestern avenue and George of near Story City. A sister of Mr. Baldus, Mrs. Lena Pheteplace of Moneta, Iowa, also came Sunday evening.
