JEWELL WOMAN ENDS OWN LIFE
Follows Granddaughter in Suicide Act

ROLAND - Mrs. Martha Michaelson, 65, hung herself in the basement of her brother's home one mile south of Roland. Sunday morning. The suicide of her granddaughter, Myrtle Teig, at Jewell two week, ago, and ill health were given as the causes of the act. Myrtle took strychnine.
Mrs. Michaelson, a resident of Jewell, has been living with her brother since the death of her granddaughter. Sunday morning she refused to go to church with her brother and his family. Her body was found hanging to a rafter in the basement when the family returned from services.
The funeral will, be held at the home of the brother, P. J. Peterson, near Roland, Wednesday at 12 m with services at the Rosendale church near Jewell at 2:00 p. m. The Rev. Mr. Oppedal of Roland and the Rev. Mr. Opsal of Jewell will be in charge of the church services while the Rev. M. O. Sumstad will conduct the brief services at the home.
Besides the brother at whose home death occurred, another brother H. M. Peterson lives five miles south of Roland. Three children survive. They are: Michael of Randall, Mrs. Henry Teig of Jewell, and Mrs. Carl Jacobson of Belmond.
