John P. Helberg Dies at Sheldahl

SHELDAHL - John Peter Helberg, 76, died at his home here Saturday. Mr. Helberg has lived in the Sheldahl community since June 1892 when he came here from Ongelsted Soken Kronerbergs
Lane, Sweden.

Mr. Helberg's mother died when he was nine years of age and his father died two years later. While in Sweden, he joined the Lutheran church. Before coming to the United States Mr. Helberg spent four years in the regular Swedish army.

On Jan. 6, 1881 Mr, Helberg was married to Bertha Mythilda Mattiason. Mrs. Helberg and six children survive. They are: Ada of Morris, Ill.; Charley of Ames, John and Mrs. Agmes Fasting of Marshalltown, Anton of Newton, and Arthur of Algona. Two children. Carl and Ada, died in infancy.
