Elaine Dale Vinzant, 88 of Nevada died on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Story County Long Term Care. Funeral services were held Monday, August 18 at the Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th Street in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial followed in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Elaine was born on November 12, 1919 in South Lineville, MO to Jerry M. and Ada B. (Hartley) Lemons. She was a 1939 graduate of Lineville High School. On August 4, 1940, Elaine married Ivan Wendell Vinzant in Princeton, MO. She retired in 1981 from Donnelley Marketing. Elaine was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church. She enjoyed fishing and loved being with her grandchildren.

Elaine is survived by 3 sons, Larry Vinzant of Scottsdale, AZ, Dick (Amy) Vinzant of Nevada, and Randy (Jodi) Vinzant of LaVista, NE; 2 daughters, Bonnie (Leo) Dunahoo of Story City and Karen (Doug) Nugent of San Jose, CA; 2 sisters, Gwendlyn Moss of Sedalia, MO and Ethel (Lynn) Harris of Nevada; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wendell on March 10, 2001, an infant daughter Judy, an infant brother, Ervin; 5 brothers, Harold, Ray, Wayne, Duane, and Bill Lemons, and a sister Maxine Eggland.

A memorial fund has been established in Elaine's name for the Memorial Lutheran Church or Story County Long Term Care.

Chet Ryan Mortuary was entrusted with Elaine and her family.
