Mrs. Julia Rod Dies At Roland at Eleven O'Clock this Morning

ROLAND, Jan. 17, - Mrs. Julia Rod, 69, pioneer Roland resident and mother of the publisher of the Roland paper, died at her home here at 11 o'clock this morning of pneumonia and jaundice complications. No funeral arrangements have been made. Mrs. Rod had been in poor health for several years.
Mr. Rod died about 10 years ago. Five sons and two daughters, all of whom were present at the time of Mrs. Rod's death, survive. All live at Roland except one daughter, Miss Esther Rod, who is teaching at Arcadia. The sons are: M. O., Conrad, Mandus, Gerhard, and Arthur. Mrs. Overt Holland is the other daughter.
Two sisters and a brother of Mrs. Rod's also live at Roland. They are Mrs. Kate Tieg, Mrs. Oley J. Jacobson, and Tom Jacobson.
Mrs. Rod made her home in the Roland community most of her life. She was born in Illinois

Rites for Julia Rod who died at her home here Friday morning at 11 o'clock will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Bergen church.
