HENRY BANKS DIES AT HOME HERE TODAY

Henry Banks, 80, pioneer resident of Ames and Story county, dies about 6 o'clock this morning of cancer at his home at 603 Duff avenue. Mr. banks had been ill for about six months and had been confined to bed the last ten days.

Funeral services will be held at the Adams chapel at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.

Mr. Banks lived in Story county about 60 years. He was born in Canada June 19, 1849, and moved to New York when he was still a boy. He was married in Story county on Dec. 12, 1878, and celebrated his fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1928. Mr. Banks was engaged in farming near Ames until 15 years ago, when her retired and moved to Ames.

Besides his wife, six children and nine grandchildren survive. The children are: Mrs. Mary Penfield of Ames, A. H. Banks and Dr. C. H. Banks of Tipton, Mrs. Richard Lawson of east of Ames, Glenn Banks of southeast of Ames and Mrs. H. A. Boehm of Ogden.

300 Attend Rites For Henry Banks

Approximately 300 relatives and freinds attended funeral services for Henry Banks, 80, pioneer resident of Ames and Story county, Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Adams chapel. The services were conducted by the Revs. E. M. Shipman, Boone, former pastor, and H. S. Wilkinson, pastor of the First Methodist church of Ames.

Burial was in the Ames cemetery.

Mr. Banks died at 6 o'clock Saturday morning after a six months illness. Mr. Banks made his home in Story county for 60 years and for many years lived at 603 Duff avenue, Ames. He farmed near Ames until 15 years ago when he retired.
