Hellen Irene Aunkst, 80, died on Saturday, Aug. 09 at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines. Funeral services are pending with Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.

Helen I. Aunkst, 80 of Aztec, N.M., died Saturday, Aug. 9, at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines. Local funeral services were held at First United Methodist Church in Nevada with burial in the Iowa Veteran Cemetery at Adel. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at Bethal Baptist Church in Aztec, N.M.

Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services assisted Helen's daughter, Mary Ann Downs, of Nevada, with arrangements.
