THE TRI-COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, July 31, 2008.

MAXWELL - Max Swalwell, 74, of Maxwell, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Services were held Friday, July 25th, at Maxwell Area Community Center. Visitation was held Thursday, July 24th at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell, followed by a prayer service.

Max was born January 13, 1934 at his parent's farm home near Maxwell, Iowa, the son of Charles and Mary Eva (Gardner) Swalwell. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1953. Max married G. Jeanette Lundstrom on November 21, 1953 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. He was a farmer.

Max was a gentle man who loved his family. Max loved to play cards, travel and enjoyed fishing in Sweden. He was Vice President of the Maxwell Museum.

Max is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Maxwell; three daughters: Debra (Jack) Wilkinson of Polk City, Iowa; Dana (Mike) Thompson of Sackets Harbor, New York, Diane (Jeff) Golly of Cambridge, Iowa; one son, Dale Swalwell of Maxwell, Iowa; three "Swedish Sons": Henrick Hamilton of Stockholm, Sweden, Christofer and Andre Saeden of Malmo, Sweden; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one sister: Helen Hagge of Ogden, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Denise Rounds; four brothers: Dudley, Ralph, Gene, Everett; four sisters: Harriett Good, Doris Dockery, Esther Brown and Alice Meyer.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Iowa or Breast Cancer Research.

Bacon Funeral Home of Maxwell was in charge of services.
