Nancy Arrasmith was born in Putman county, Indiana, February 11th 1835 and died at her home January 23rd, 1911 aged 75 years, 11 months and 5 days. She was married to Geo. H. Alfred December 12th, 1861. To this union six children were born one of whom the eldest son died when 21 years of age.
She united with the 1st Baptist church of Ames in July 1871, and for nearly forty years gave a large place in her heart and life to the church and its interest. Her husband died in 1904.
Two sons, three daughters, three brothers and two sisters are left to mourn her passing. She was a good mother, a loving wife, a splendid neighbor, loved most by those who knew her best. A true follower of her Lord and Master, Jesus Christ.
