Mrs. Catherine Atwood Chandler Passed Away in California

Mrs. Catherine Atwood Chandler passed away, April 29th, at Hillcrest Convalescent Hospital Long Beach, Calif. after a long illness.

The faneral services were held at The Wee Kirk of the Heather Tuesday afternoon, May 3rd, at two o'clock with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Calif.

Catherine Chandler was born to Captain Hosea Atwood and Mrs. Martha Stark Atwood at Sycamore, Ill., Oct. 12, 1882.

At the age of six months she came with her parents to the farm in Jasper County south of Collins which the family had purchased and there she lived until her marriage.

Her education was obtained in the rural school and at Highland Fark College. She was an avid reader and a worldwide traveler.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and five brothers, Richard, John, Henry, Stark and Morris. She was the last one of her family of her generation.

Mts. Chandler is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Bernice M. Jones, of Los Angeles, Calif. and a nephew, Jeff Atwood. of Glenda1e, Calif.
