OPAL VASEY APKER

Opal Apker, 54, a former Collins resident, died in Seattle, Washington, Wednesday morning. Her body was returned, arriving on Friday evening, and lied in state in the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell, Saturday and Sunday.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday at the Collins United Methodist Church, with Rev. Wilton Grant officiating.

Ruth Mitchell and Phyllis Derby furnished the music.

In charge of the floral tributes were Jean Barrett and Phyllis Beavers.

Casket bearers were Jerry Sager, Larry Vasey, Richard Milligan, Jim Anderson, John E. Vasey and Forrest Lafferty,

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Collins.

She is survived by her husband, Robert ; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Newhard of Des Moines, Mrs. Hazel Milligan of Maxwell and Mrs. Maude Sager of Collins. Also surviving are two brothers, Lawrence Vasey of Everett, Wash., and Ralph Vasey of Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and two brothers.
