Laurene Allen, 88, of Oroville, Wash., died Monday, Nov. 10, at the Mid Valley Hospital in Omak.

She was born Sept. 7, 1915, in Perry to parents Ivyl and Blanche Fagen. She spent her childhood on a farm in central Iowa. On Sept. 24, 1939, she married Dale Allen, and they raised their family in Nevada. As well as being mother and homemaker, she taught piano and worked in the clerical department of the R.H. Donnelley direct mail corporation. When they retired, the Allens moved to Tucson, Ariz., where they lived for 10 years. Following her husband's death, she moved to Oroville, Wash., to be closer to family, and later to the North Valley Assisted Living, then to the North Valley Nursing Home in Tonasket. She was a member of the Oroville United Methodist Church, The Royal Neighbors and the Oroville Senior Center.

Survivors include two sons, Keith (and Marlys) of Penticton, B.C., and Craig of Menasha, Wis.; a brother, Lowell (and Lani) Fagen of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a great-grandson, Wyatt.

Services were held Nov. 24 at the Oroville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jin
Ming Ma officiating. Memorials may be made to the Oroville United Methodist Church or the Oroville Senior Center. Bergh Funeral Service, Oroville, Wash., handled arrangements.
