THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, June 27, 2008.

Pauline "Polly" Wilson, 48, died peacefully Monday, June 16, in Houston, of complications from multiple systems atrophy. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, June 30, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ames.

After graduation from Ames High School, Polly received a bachelor's degree in child development from Iowa State University. She moved to Houston where she met and subsequently married David Wilson. She taught kindergarten for several years in Houston, as well as Crystal Lake, Ill., and Aurora, Ill. A subsequent move took them to Brussels, Belgium.

She was member of Prince of Peace Church in Houston.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, David; one daughter, Elise; one son, Jacob; her mother, Virginia Slater; four sisters, Tia (Jim) Watson, Missy (Mark) Raisbeck, Deana (Rick Ortenblad) Slater, and Julie Bryant; one brother, James (Natalie) Slater; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Slater; and one brother, John Slater.
