Priscilla Ann Watkins, 69, of Slater, died Sunday, June 22, at home, following a lengthy illness. At her request, the body will be cremated and a memorial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at United Methodist Church of Slater.

Priscilla was born July 14, 1938, in Jefferson, to Paul and Leona (Peardon) Watkins. She was married 31 years to Walter Pohl, and to this union was born five children. They moved to Slater from Grimes in 1960. She enjoyed singing in the Ladies Trio at church and was a masterful gardener.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Randall and Bryan Pohl; three daughters, Colette Wall, Janelle Pitcher and Michelle Burke; one brother, Maurice Watkins; one sister, Martha Wolf; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and extraordinary friends, Barb and Kreg Kahler.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant siblings, David and Marie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to United Methodist Church of Slater and/or Friends of the Slater Public Library.

Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater is in charge of arrangements.
