B. Verlee Cary, 93, of Nevada, died Sunday, June 22, at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 27, at Central Presbyterian Church, 932 Fifth St., in Nevada, with Pastor Scott Milsom officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Central Presbyterian Church.
Verlee was born Jan. 31, 1915, in Morning Sun, to John E. and Nellie (Pearl) Wheeler. She graduated from Morning Sun High School. She married James Cary Aug. 13, 1932. She retired as a supervisor at Reuben H. Donnelley Marketing. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading and doing puzzles.
She is survived by one daughter, Anna (Clifford) Utter, of Nevada; two brothers, George Wheeler, of Salina, Kan., and Robert Wheeler; three grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, in September 1983; an infant daughter, Lyla Cary; three brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for the church.
Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
