Floyd J. Twedt, 80, of Nevada, died of cancer at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.
He was born to Jacob and Allie (Twedt) Twedt, Nevada, where he lived and worked until retirement.
On May 31, 1941, he married Grace O. Tendall in Roland.
A graduate of Milford High School, he had been an active member of Bergen and Salem Lutheran Churches in Roland, and the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. He had been a 4-H leader, and had served on the boards of the Roland Creamery and Roland Coop.
He is survived by his wife, Grace of Nevada; two sons: Arlen R. Twedt and John R. Twedt, both of Ankeny; one daughter, Nancy C. Twedt of Clive; and five granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis Twedt; one brother, Orris Twedt; and one sister, Margaret Heiden.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 4, at the Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada, with Pastor Forrest Chaffee officiating. Burial was in Roland Cemetery, Roland.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Bergen, Salem, or Memorial Lutheran Churches.
Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, was in charge of arrangements.
