Arlie Tegland, 91, died Tuesday, June 17, at her farm home near Ellsworth from complications of dementia. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. Burial will be in Homewood Cemetery near Ellsworth. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at the Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Ellsworth.

Arlie J. Tegland, 91, died Tuesday, June 17, at her farm home near Ellsworth from complications of dementia. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. Burial will be in Homewood Cemetery near Ellsworth. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Ellsworth.

Arlie J. Tegland was born March 4, 1917, in Racine, Wis., to Raymond and Anna (Olson) Classon. She graduated from Ellsworth High School. She married Elston O.C. Danielson Dec. 7, 1940. She was a homemaker, farm owner and operator and an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. After the death of Elston Danielson, she married Emery Tegland on Jan. 10, 1971.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandy (Mrs. John Underberg), of Urbandale, Mary (Mrs. Paul Hill), of Ellsworth, and Orene (Mrs. Rex Glantz), of Ankeny; three stepchildren, Beverly (Mrs. Howard Gallatin), of Waterloo, Marjorie (Mrs. Jim Evans), of Fairfield, and Bruce, of Marshfield, Wis.; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Theda Hans, of Des Moines; and two sisters-in-law Marjorie Danielson and Eleanor (Mrs. Don Munson), both of Story City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Florence; one brother, Wilmer; both husbands, Elston (1960) and Emery (1995); one daughter, RaeJean (1960); one son, Edward (2004); one granddaughter, Jody Thomas (1997); and one great-grandson, Chase Thomas (1997).
