Funeral services for Mrs. N. B. Nelson were held Friday afternoon, Oct. 27 at 2 o'clock at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Pastor Howard Lybeck officiated. Mrs. Robert Eischen was organist, and accompanied Mrs. Loren Twedt who sang.
Burial was in the Roland Cemetery. Casket bearers were Paul Frette, Otto Twedt, Wayne Morgan, Ted Sampson, Ben Durby and Henry Peterson.
Taletta Nelson was born Feb. 24, 1890 in Hjelmeland, Stavanger, Norway, to parents Hans and Taletta Hendrickson. She came to the United States in 1910.
On Oct. 10, 1914 she was united in marriage to N. G. Nelson. They farmed south of Roland until retiring in 1950, moving to Roland in 1953. Mr. Nelson passed away on April 1, 1958. Mrs. Nelson passed away at her home in Roland on Tuesday morning, Oct. 24, at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters: Arnold Nelson of Encinotis, Calif.; Hjalmer Nelson, route 1, Ames; Mrs. Bernice Frette, Story City; and Margaret Nelson of Roland. Also eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her husband are her parents, four sisters, three brothers, one grandson and one great-grandson.
