Roy K. Van Zee, 61, of RR 2, Nevada, died Sunday evening at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. He had been hospitalized for 6 days.
Born in Weldon, Iowa to Peter and Catherine Van Zee, he had farmed in Story County for 30 years. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.
Van Zee is survived by his wife Irene, son Roger Van Zee of Freeport, Ill., daughter Mrs. Daniel (Carolyn ) Eggers of Waverly, brother Lester of Chariton, sister Mrs. Elva Neighbour of Chariton and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Services will be held at the Central Presbyterian Church Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gehrald Riesen officiating. Burial will be at Chariton, Ia. Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.
