Harry Allison Purk, 58, of rural Ames, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1981 at the home of his sister, where he lived.
He was born March 3, 1922, in Tama, Ia., the son of Frank and Mildred Loft Purk. He was a 1942 graduate of Nevada High School, and served 5 years in the service, including W.W.II. He was employed by the Ames Rushing Grocery and worked in the Ben Franklin Store in Nevada until he retired in 1969.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Mr. Purk is survived by a brother, Frank Purk; two sisters, Lillian DeHart of St. Joseph, Mo. and Patricia Dodd of rural Ames; 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Nevada, with Rev. Harold Wagner officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery with graveside rites by the Nevada Post.
Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada.
