Mrs. Clarence (Eva Mae) Sowers, 72, rural Story City died October 10, 1979 at the Story City Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Sowers had been ill the past year.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 13, from the Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Duane O'Tool was in charge.
Don Aanderson, soloist, sanf "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace", accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Dorrel Doolittle.
Pallbarers were DeWayne Kammin, Richard C. Johnson, Art Okland, Casper Torkelson, John Dickerson, and Roy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were B. W. Jacobson, Guy Johnson, Reuben Miller, Don Gilchrist, Arling Isvik, and Lloyd Dadisman.
Burial was at the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Mrs. Sowers was born April 19, 1907 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. She and Clarence Sowers were married July 20, 1928. She had lived on the same farm, west of Story City, since her marriage.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, David Sowers of Colo, Richard Sowers and Jerry Sowers, both of Story City; four brothers, Roy Summers of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Ralph Summers, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, John Summers, Charleston, South Carolina, and James Summers of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three sisters, Pearl Cowles of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Luella Virtle of Stevens Point, Wisconsin and Myrtle Miller of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. and Jennie Daisy Summers, four brothers and two sisters.---from the Story City Herald Oct. 17, 1979
