Barb Olsan, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at her home.

Barb was born in Ames, Iowa, to Milton and Dorothy (Taylor) Sheldahl and grew up in Slater and Ankeny. She married Paul Olsan on June 9, 1962 in Des Moines. After their marriage, Barb and Paul lived in Cedar Falls, Clinton, KnobNoster, Missouri, Gilbert and Story City where they have been since 1977. Barb worked in the banking industry for many years and was a member of Grace Church Bell Choir in Story City.

Surviving their mother are two children, Julie (Bill) DeVine of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Doug (Shelly) Olsan of Huxley; six grandchildren, Cassie, Lucas, and Brianna DeVine and Max, Jack and Rex Olsan and a sister, Janet (Duaine) Larson of Kelley. Barb was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 24, at 3 p.m. at St. Petri Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.
