THE STORY CITY HERALD, Story City, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, July 4, 2007.

Marjorie Ihlene Holland, 85, of Roland, died June 26, 2007 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services were held Friday June 29, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial was in the Roland Cemetery.

Ihlene was born June 23, 1922 near Roland to Irvin and Myrtle (Wierson) Goodmanson. She graduated from Roland High School in 1939. She married Arthur Holland on April 5, 1941. She worked in Highway Planning at the DOT for 25 years. She was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church. She lived in Roland until 1950 when they moved to Huxley. They returned to Roland in 1964.

Ihlene is survived by her husband, Arthur of Roland; two daughters, Karen Soderstrum (Dennis) of Story City and Linda Ritland of Roland; a daughter-in-law, Hope Holland Mullins (Al) of Saukville; Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Strum Larson (Darrell) of Roland and Janet Hallauer (Arnel) of Ames; and a brother, Robert Goodmanson (Barbara) of Folsom, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, David Holland.

Visitation was held Thursday, June 28 from 5 to 7 at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland.
