John Allen "Skip" Lawson, 57, of Ames died of cancer Thursday at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Calvary United Methodist church in Ames, of which he ws a member. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Lawson was born in Ames and lived there 22 years before moving to Washington, D.C. He returned to Ames in 1973. He was owner of All Country Travel Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Vosburg-Lawson; and a sister, Marjory Burman of Longmont, Colo.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until a Scripture service at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church's mission fund.
