THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, April 1, 2008.

Dec. 8, 1966-March 29, 2008

Susan A. Weidler, 41, of Ames and formerly of Marshalltown and Ferguson, died Saturday, March 29, at home. Funeral services celebrating her life will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Cremation rites will follow the services.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight at Mitchell Family Funeral Home.

Susan Ann (Susie) Simatovich graced the lives of Andrew and Karen (Drew) Simatovich Dec. 8, 1966, in Marshalltown. She was joined at home by two sisters, Kim and Jami. She graduated from the LDF High School's Class of 1985, and on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 1995, with a group sponsored by KGGO Radio in Des Moines, married Scott Weidler. A precious son, Kenneth Scott "Kenny," graced their home Oct. 19, 2001.

She was employed at the American Legion, Pizza Hut, Cub Foods and Hickory Park, and was a stay-at-home mom.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Scott, and son, Kenneth Scott, both at home; her mother, Karen Simatovich, of Ferguson; her father, Andrew Simatovich and Sheryl Gwinn, of Ferguson; sisters, Kim (David) Pepe, of Marshalltown, and Jami Simatovich and Jason Drew, of Gladbrook; nieces, Ariel Pepe, Emilee Pepe, Jaci Drew, Lily Drew and Jessua Dalton; nephews, Dalton Roberts, Joey Pepe, Garrett Drew, Charles Doty, Robert Dalton and Trevar Weidler; aunts and uncles, Clarence and Iona Simatovich, of Newton, Ron and Linda Simatovich, of Ferguson, Vicki and Greg Palmer, of Ft. Pierce, Fla., and Mick and Penny Drew, of Newton; sisters-in-law, Marcia Doty and Cheryl Dalton; and in-laws, Darrel and Denise Weidler; as well as numerous friends and cousins.

In her heavenly home, she has joined grandparents, Andrew and Hazel Simatovich, and Charles and Nadine Drew; uncle, Bob Drew; nephew, Tyson Drew; mother-in-law, Virginia Weidler; and brother-in-law, Maynard Doty.

A memorial fund is being established for the benefit of her son, Kenny.
