Marie White, 86, of Boone, died Wednesday, March 12, at Eastern Star Masonic Home. Her body has been cremated and a private family graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, east of Gilbert, with Chaplain Renee AuMiller officiating. The cremains will be buried following the service.

Marie White was born April 2, 1921, in Franklin Township in Story County, the daughter of Soren and Lula (Hoffmeister) Sorenson. She married Robert "Bob" White July 29, 1963, in Prescott, Minn.

She was a homemaker and for 14 1/2 years, and she worked as a homemaker health aide for Boone County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was a senior member of the American Legion Auxiliary 37 of Ames. In earlier years, she enjoyed dancing and camping, and over the years, she loved her many dogs and caring for them.

She is survived by her husband, Bob, of Boone; one son, Jim Price and wife, Sharon, of Clarion; one brother, Arnold Sorenson, of Story City; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

The family requests no flowers and that memorials be given to Pleasant Grove Church.
