Amy C. Ritland, 95, of Story City died March 16, 2007 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 21, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Garden City. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Amy was born Feb. 11, 1912 in Radcliffe, Iowa to Cernal and Selma (Olson) Knutson. She graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1930 and married Howard Ritland on Feb. 23, 1935. He died in February 1979. Amy has resided in Story City the past 30 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and volunteering at Bethany Manor. Amy was an excellent cook and baker.

Amy is survived by three daughters, Helen Tjernagel (Bill) of Story City, Diane Severseike of Lake Forest, Illinois and Barbara Skartvedt (Ivan) of Conrad; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gladys Thorson of Story City, Ardyce Bishop (Russell) of Webster City and Doris Lewis of Wellman, and a brother, Jordan Knutson of Tucson, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; a son-in-law, Gary Severseike and three brothers, Cyrus, Rueben and Virgil.

Visitation was Tuesday, March 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City.
