Mazel G. Johnson, 89, of Story City, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will follow at the Story City Municipal Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Mazel G. Johnson was born December 20, 1917 to Milo and Jeanette (Wierson) Thorson in Story City, Iowa. She married Donald G. Johnson December 10, 1936. Mazel was confirmed and a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. She enjoyed her winters in Mesa, Arizona for the past 40 years.
Survivors include her husband Donald G. Johnson of Story City; two sons, Gary (Marion) Johnson of Story City, and Steve (Marcy) Johnson of Story City; one daughter Charlene Keltner of Lake Mills, Iowa; two sisters, Maxine Hovick of Story City, and Ione Lenning of Ames; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Mazel was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Jeffries, Onel, and Arle Thorson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp.
