Frederick "Fritz" Leo Wirth, 79. of Story City, passed away Monday June 4, 2007 at Bethany Manor it Story City. Funeral services wen held Friday, June 8 at 10:30 a.m. a St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, rural Gilbert. Burial fol lowed at St. Peter and Paul's Church Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday, June 7 from 5 p.m. to p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. a Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Fred "Fritz" Leo Wirth was born Nov. 20, 1927 to parents Leo Frederick and Sophia Ann (Elsner) Wirth in Gilbert, Iowa. He served in the United States Army and had been a farmer in the Story City area hi: entire life. Fred married Nettie Osgood on Feb. 27, 1957. Fred was baptized, confirmed, married, and current member of St. Peter am Paul's Catholic Church. He had worked at AA Sales Barn am Woodland Farms and also did cus tom farming. Fred enjoyed working with horses and collecting antique. and tools.

Survivors include his wife, Nettie Wirth of Story City; one daughters, Kim (Mike) Hermanson of Story City; three sons, Tim Wirth of rural Story City, Jeff (Tera) Wirth of Story City, and Scott (Chris) Wirth of Wes Des Moines; two sisters, Alina Lynch of Des Moines, and Irene Faust of St. Paul, Minnesota; and seven grandchildren.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vince Wirth and Eldon Wirth; and three sister Myrtle Fitzgerald, Mary Pattenburg and Mildred Lindeman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated for St. Peter am Paul's Catholic Church or Iowa Hospice.
