Arthur A. Kleespie, 89, of Zearing, died Sunday, Dec. 23, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing.
The family requests no flowers, and memorials can be directed to the family or Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing.
Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing is in charge of arrangements.

Arthur A. Kleespie, 89, lifelong Zearing resident, died Sunday, Dec. 23, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing. Burial will be in Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing.
Arthur A. Kleespie was born Aug. 14, 1918, in Grundy Center, to Charles and Minnie (Pulver) Kleespie. He graduated from Zearing Township High School in 1937 and attended Iowa State College of two years. He married Florence Pies Dec. 31, 1940, in rural Madrid. He farmed in Zearing, retiring in 1986.
He was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing, a 50-year member of the Isabelle Chapter 271 of the Eastern Star of Colo, a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 99 A.M. and F.M of Nevada and a charter member of the McCallsburg Lions Club.
He assisted Fred Fredregill at the Fredregill Funeral Home with funerals for the past 25 years. He always will be remembered as a fine, dedicated, caring, loving citizen of Zearing.
He is survived by one daughter, Karen (Londell) Mannes, of Ames; one granddaughter, Lisa (Alan) Feeney, of Morris Plains, N.J.; one grandson, Todd (Crystal) Mannes, of Eden Prairie, Minn., three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; and one niece, Nancy (Ronald) Reed, of Laurens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, on April 29; his parents; twin brother, Raymond; one sister, Madelyn Irwin; and one nephew, John Flynn, of Tucson, Ariz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family or Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing.
