Arlette Stole, 79, or Roland died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial will be in the Roland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bergen Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.

Arlette was born Sept. 9, 1926 in rural Jewell to Lars and Hannah (Hill) Skaar. She was a graduate of Story City High School.

Arlette married Donald Stole on July 20, 1951. He died Dec. 23, 1978. She was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church where she had been active in WELCA. She loved quilting and family activities.

She is survived by a son, Galen (Cindy) of Roland; two daughters, Jan Stole of Roland and Kay Eischen of Eldora; three grandchildren, Matthew, Jill and Nicholas; a sister, Judy Quam (Arden) of Ames and two brothers, Ole Skaar of Story City and Luther Quam (Betty) of San Gabriel, California.

Arlette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Memorials may be made to Dystonia Medical Research Foundation or to Bergen Lutheran Church.
