THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, December 15, 2007.

Lois Brandt, 79, died Thursday, Dec. 13, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Lois Brandt was born March 27, 1928, the daughter of Carl and Gertrude (Christianson) Handeland. She graduated from McCallsburg High School in 1946.
Lois worked for R.H. Donnelley Corporation in Nevada and for Bourns in Ames as a parts assembler in Aviation Electronics.

Lois loved and enjoyed her family and was a member of the Nevada Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Phil) Cacek, of Nevada, and Linda (Jim) Haberer, of Ogden; two brothers, Ronald Handeland, of Beulah, Colo., and Gary Handeland, of Stanhope; five sisters, Corrine Rutzen, of Ames, Ardys Schwartz, of Ames, Marilyn Holdredge, of Story City, Wilma Myers, of Gilbert, and Shirley Otta, of McCallsburg; five grandchildren, Joshua Blythe, Nicholas Cacek and Derek, Jenny and Kyle Goudeau; and one great-grandchild.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael; and one grandson, Nathan.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lois M. Brandt memorial fund.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory of Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
