Alice Helen Cook, 96, died Sunday, Nov. 11, at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Burial will be in Cambridge Cemetery.

Alice Helen Cook was born Dec. 24, 1910, at Madrid, to Nels and Edith (Hallstrom) Nelson. She graduated from Gilbert High School in 1930 and married Lester Cook May 11, 1933, in Nevada. He preceded her in death April 23, 1976.

She was a homemaker, a member of Cambridge United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Garden Club and The Bridge Club. She loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed crocheting and sewing.

She is survived by one son, Duane (Donna) Cook, of Cambridge; two daughters, Janis Hennick and Judy Patterson, both of Cambridge; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, August Nelson, of Iowa Center, and Raymond Nelson, of St. Anthony.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; two grandchildren, Cynthia Cook and Kirk Crabtree; six brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Story County Long Term Care in Nevada.
