Elizabeth "Libby" Behle, 38, of rural Boone, died Thursday, Nov. 8. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall streets in Boone, with Mike Salati officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, southwest of Boone.
Libby Behle was born Dec. 2, 1968, in Des Moines, the daughter of Raymond and Mary Jane (Hurley) Phillips. She graduated from Hoover High School in Des Moines in 1987. She married Randolph "Randy" Behle June 13, 1987, at Altoona. She lived in Des Moines, Ankeny, Woodward and moved to Boone in 1997. She was co-owner of Roto Rooter of Ames, working with her husband servicing Story, Boone, Greene and Carroll counties. In August, she began working in food service at Howe Elementary School in Ogden.
She was an avid Chicago Bears fan. She enjoyed drawing, boating, dancing, tailgating, go-kart racing with her family and gatherings with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Randy, of rural Boone; two sons, Randolph Jr. and Thomas Behle, and one daughter, Alyssa Behle, all at home in rural Boone; three sisters, Stacie Phillips and husband, Shawn Leonard, of Des Moines, Denise "Missy" (Phillips) Stephenson and husband, Dennis, of California, and Debbie Phillips, of Georgia; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Janet and Jack Behle, of Bondurant; two brothers-in-law, Jack Behle Jr. and wife, Eva, of Texas, and William Behle, of Iowa; two sisters-in-law, JoAnne Dennis and husband, Kendall, and Sandra Auston, all of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from noon until 9 p.m. today at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall streets in Boone, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Family and friends are invited to the Behle home following the committal service for lunch and a time of fellowship.
Memorials may be given to the family to establish a fund for her children.
