Esther A. Paap, 100, of Storm Lake, died Saturday, Oct. 27, at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake. Services were today at St. John's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial was in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery at Storm Lake.
Esther Alvina Kraemer was born March 1, 1907, in Alta, the daughter of Rudolph and Bertha (Roby) Kraemer. She married Fred C. Paap Jan. 26, 1927, and this union was blessed with one daughter, Phyllis Jean. She made Storm Lake her home since February 1941.
She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Johnson, of Story City; two grandsons, Michael Williams, of Houston, and Steven Williams, of Mission Viejo, Calif.; one step-granddaughter, Vicky Hatcher, of Platteville, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Jason Williams and Maria Williams; one step great-grandson, John Hatcher; several great-great-grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Bentzen, of Monticello, Minn.; and other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son-in-law, John Johnson; two brothers; and five sisters.
Sliefert Funeral Home of Storm Lake was in charge of arrangements.
