THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, October 9, 2007.

July 11, 1935-Oct. 6, 2007

Sally Jo Ann Baldwin, 72, of Barnum, died Saturday Oct. 6, of cancer at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. Family burial services will be in Laurens.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge. In accordance with Sally Jo's wishes, cremation will take place after the visitation.

Sally Jo Ann Braunschweig was born July 11, 1935, in Storm Lake. She married William Russell Baldwin Sept. 12, 1955, in Sioux Rapids. She taught in schools at Jolley, Mallard and East Union and served as principal at St. Matthews in Clare.

She is survived by one son, W.D. (Connie) Baldwin, of Salem, Ore.; one daughter, Ann Baldwin, of Ames; three grandchildren, Will, Alexis and Eva; one sister, Karen (Jim) Spies, of Graettinger; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and Naomi Adams, of Milford; sisters-in-law, Lucy Rusk, of Dickens, and Madalyn Adams, of Spencer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Howard and Joyce Thomsen, of Royal; and a special family friend, Dan Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Etta Braunschweig; and her husband, William Baldwin.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be directed to Grace Lutheran Church or to the Barnum Fire Department Building Fund.
