Margaret Heintz, 90, of Ames, died Sunday, Oct. 7, as a result of an automobile accident. Arrangements are pending with Adams Funeral Home.

Margaret Heintz, 90, of Ames, died Sunday, Oct. 7, in Marshalltown. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, with Fr. Ivan Niehaus officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Nevada.

Margaret Heintz was born June 28, 1917, in Ames, to Rufus and Ethel (Van Patter) Griffith. She was a graduate of Ames High School and lifetime resident of Story County. She married Tim Wheelock; he preceded her in death in 1972. She married Bill Heintz June 18, 1983.

She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, loved to play cards and loved her family.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Francis William (Bill) Heintz, of Ames; son, John (Kathy) Wheelock, of Nevada, their seven children and 20 grandchildren; son, Jim (Sherri) Wheelock, of Howell, Mich., their two children and two grandchildren; son, Jerry (Jan) Wheelock, of Mingo, their five children and seven grandchildren; son, Steve (Diane) Wheelock, of Freeport, Ill., and their three children; daughter, Ramona (Merrill) Kilborn, of Marshalltown, their three sons, three daughters and seven grandchildren; son, Mark Wheelock, of Colo, his four daughters and three grandchildren; stepson, Paul (Ginny) Heintz, of Colo, and their two children; stepson, Tom (Sue) Heintz, of Iowa Falls, their four children and one grandchild; and stepdaughter, Louise (Larry) Hume, of Sidney, and their two children.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Timothy Wheelock; her parents; three brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild, Michael Kilborn.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, with a Rosary at 7 p.m.

Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
