Arline Severson, 81, of Roland, died Thursday, Oct. 4, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.
Boeke Funeral Home of Hubbard is in charge of arrangements.

Arline Severson, 81, of Roland, died Thursday, Oct. 4 at Bethany Manor in Story City.
Services will be at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland Monday, Oct. 8, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.
Friends may call at Bethany Manor in Story City, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7.
Arline J. Severson was born Aug. 17, 1926, in St. James, Minn. to Alton and Zina (Winkelman) George. Before she was 4 years old, she was adopted by Reuben and Anna Myrland, of Roland.
She attended and graduated from McCallsburg High School in McCallsburg. Her hobbies included cooking, singing and she was very active in 4-H.
On Oct. 28, 1945, Arline and Herbert Severson were united in marriage at the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Shortly after they were married, they moved to a farm near Roland. They farmed for more than 50 years. In later years, she worked as a cook for the Donnelley Corporation in Nevada. They enjoyed many years of retirement in Mission, Texas.
Throughout her years, she enjoyed bowling, painting pictures, spending time with her grandchildren, and she especially enjoyed mowing the lawn on "her" riding lawn mower.
Those remaining to cherish her memory include one son, Michael Severson, of Eagle Grove; two daughters, Vivian Severson, of Manchester, Conn., and Linda Wheeler and her husband Robert, of Radcliffe; and six grandchildren, Peter Hindle, Jamie Welch, Adam Wheeler, Patrick, Jennifer and Lindsey Severson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert; two brothers, Leland and Glenn George, and one sister, LaVerna Booth.
Boeke Funeral Home, of Radcliffe, is in charge of arrangements.
