AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, October 3, 2007.

Marion Johnson, of North Liberty and formerly of Roland, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Lantern Park Nursing Home in Iowa City. Funeral services are pending with Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Marion P. Johnson, 86, of North Liberty, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Lantern Park Nursing Home in Coralville following a short illness. A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will be in Roland Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mardean, of North Liberty; one son, David Johnson, of Parrish, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jill Johnson-West, of North Liberty, Maria Ganesh, of Castro Valley, Calif., Rich Johnson, of Lake Zurich, Ill., and Chris Johnson, of Fort Worth, Texas; and five great-grandchildren.

Soderstrum Funeral Home of Story City is in charge of arrangements.
