Christopher Sillman, 42, of Ames, died Monday, Sept. 24. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Christopher Keith Sillman, 42, of Ames, died Monday, Sept. 24, at Mary Greeley Medical Center following a short illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Christopher Sillman was born Aug. 4, 1965, in Britt, to Keith and Mary (Pritchard) Sillman. He graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1983. He attended Iowa State University. He married Jennifer Nissen Feb. 14, 1992, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eldora.
He was employed by HCS Builders for 15 years and was a designer and partner. In 2000, he completed a bachelor's degree from William Penn University. He was a devoted family man. He loved golfing, camping and entertaining friends and family. He was an avid fan of all Iowa State University athletics. He also enjoyed his dogs.
He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Adelante fraternity.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Sillman, and their four daughters, Lauren, Delaney, Emma and Julia, of Ames; mother and stepfather, Mary Sillman (Jerry) Johnson, of Tama; one brother, Anthony (Heidi) Sillman, of Ackley; three sisters, Erin (Gary) Bjornstad, of Bloomington, Minn., Molly (Bruce) Linde, of Fort Dodge, and Anne (Josh) Sents, of Ames; father-in-law, Bill Nissen, of Clear Lake; sister-in-law, Cindy Nissen and her fiance, of Rockford, Ill.; five nieces; four nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Chris Sillman Memorial Fund, c/o First National Bank in Ames.
Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames is assisting Chris' family.
