NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, September 20, 2007.

Betty Ann Klucas, 78, of Ames died Sept. 16 at her home. Visitation is being held from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Adams Funeral Home, Ames. Funeral services are being held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Adams Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Nevada Cemetery.

Betty was born in Nevada, IA, on April 19, 1929, to Charlie and Annie (Healey) Burkhart. She had resided in Ames since 1965. She graduated from Hueytown, AL High School and attended college for two years. She had owned an upholstery business and also taught Adult Ed and worked at Donnelley's. She married Chester Klucas on Nov. 25, 1965, in Nevada. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada; the Moose Lodge, OES Amaranth and White Shrine, American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son, Paul (Shelley Carter) Klucas, her daughter, Mary Jo Schmidt, her step-son Dr. Joseph Klucas, two step-daughters Sharon Crowley and Sally Miller, a brother Carl (Sharon) Burkhart, two grandchildren Crystal Kariker and Justin Howard and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Chester in 1987.

Memorials may be made to ACCESS Assault Care Shelter.
